Scholarships
LEAP is committed to making social work licensing exam preparation accessible. LEAP offers scholarships to degreed social workers in the United States who still need to pass the ASWB licensing exam.
Who Can Apply?
LEAP offers two scholarship categories:
Category 1: Degreed Social Workers Taking the Exam
Open to degreed social workers who will be taking the ASWB licensing exam within the designated application period. Recipients receive a full LEAP study package including the Comprehensive Study Guide, Video Course, Practice Exam, and Test Strategy Class (value approximately $375).
Category 2: Degreed Social Workers with Two Prior Failed Attempts
Open to individuals who have taken the same ASWB exam level at least twice and did not pass. Recipients receive the full study package listed above plus full reimbursement for the most recent ASWB exam fee (not to exceed $275). Applicants who have taken the exam more than twice are encouraged to submit official ASWB score reports for each failed attempt.
Application Cycles
Applications are accepted three times per year. You must apply during the cycle that matches your submission date.
- Summer: May 1 through August 31
- Fall: September 1 through November 30
- Winter/Spring: December 1 through April 30
What Is Required?
The application includes basic contact information, your social work program, exam level, and a two-part essay (maximum 400 words per part, submitted as a PDF). Essay topics focus on social work ethics and how the scholarship would support your career goals.
Applicants must be degreed social workers in the United States or will be within the next six months, must still need to pass the ASWB licensing exam, and must agree to LEAP's scholarship terms.
